Premier Glass Enclosure Builder in Palmer Lake, CO
DecKor Outdoor Living has spent 21 years putting custom glass systems on decks and patios around Palmer Lake. Up here on the Divide, the view is usually fantastic, but mountain winds can blow you right back inside by dinner time. Installing heavy-duty tempered glass gives you a solid shield against cold gusts without cutting off the trees or mountains behind your house.
DecKor Outdoor Living
Built for the Palmer Divide
Living at 7,200 feet means outdoor building materials take a beatdown. An afternoon storm can drop the temperature twenty degrees in minutes, followed by 50 mph wind gusts coming off the peaks. Standard porch screens tear open, and wood balusters chop up your view into thin vertical strips.
We build custom glass enclosures engineered to handle high-altitude weather. You might want a full floor-to-ceiling glass patio enclosure or a simple frameless glass railing around an elevated deck. Either way, we handle the structural planning, hardware selection, and installation ourselves. The goal is simple: give you a quiet, comfortable space outside where you can actually enjoy the mountain scenery without needing a winter coat in May.

Choose Us
21 Years Building Along the Front Range
We have been working in Palmer Lake, CO since 2003. Two decades of building in foothill terrain teaches you what works and what fails when the snow piles up.

Regional Knowledge
We understand local wind load rules, snow load math, and how to get plans approved through regional building departments.

Heavy Hardware
We do not use light retail fittings. Everything we install relies on thick aluminum channels, structural steel posts, or marine-grade 316 stainless clamps.

Clean, Plumb Lines
Glass leaves zero room for sloppy work. A quarter-inch offset stands out right away. Our crew takes the extra time setting posts dead plumb and aligning panel edges carefully.

Solid Structural Backing
Every system we put up meets strict local safety codes for guardrails and load resistance, backed by clear manufacturer warranties and our own build guarantee.

Our Process
How We Take Your Project From Sketch to Finish
Building a glass wall or deck barrier requires careful prep work. Glass panels are custom cut and tempered at the factory. Once made, they cannot be trimmed or re-drilled on site. Here is how we make sure everything goes together right the first time.
Checking Your Site and Structure
We come out to your home, measure the space, and examine your existing deck or concrete pad. We check joist spacing, post anchoring, and ledger connections to ensure your structure can comfortably carry the weight. We also talk through your primary goals, like cutting down wind, gaining privacy, or opening up your view.
Custom Engineering & Permits
Once we settle on a layout, we draft detailed specs covering panel thickness, post placement, and metal finishes. If your project requires engineered stamped drawings for county permits, we handle that paperwork before ordering any materials.
The Build and Panel Placement
After the custom glass arrives from the fabricator, our installation crew sets up the structural posts, shoe channels, and mounting hardware. We set the tempered panels into position, lock them down with precision clamps or structural sealant, and check every connection for stability.
Final Inspection and Care Walkthrough
We walk the finished build with you, test all gates or moving sections, and explain how to keep the glass clean. We clear away all construction debris so your yard is ready to use immediately.

These guys are incredible! I have been dealing with contractors all my life and have come to expect subpar workmanship, not these guys at DecKor, they went over and above my expectations for the following reasons. 1. The work came in on time. 2. The project came in on Budget 3. The work site was cleaned at the end of every day and trash was hauled off. 4. The workers were kind and considerate and didn't hesitate to stop and answer all my Questions. 5. Jake is thorough in details and follows up in a timely manner. 6. Archer is more OCD than I am so I didn't have to micromanage anything on the project, I had complete trust that it would be completed as designed with the highest grade materials and workmanship. 7. And here is the best part, no Change Orders (I always hated them) Archer would propose a different approach, we would discuss it, and he was usually correct as it made the project better. I just gave him the thumbs up and he would follow through.Posted on Google![]()

Archer and the guys at Deckor are absolutely wonderful! We got estimates from other companies in town but Jake at Deckor worked with us and made great suggestions for how we could get everything we really wanted within our budget, while the other companies did not. We have had many contractors work on our house over the 20 some years we have lived in Colorado Springs and we really have never been happy, UNTIL Archer and his crew came to work on our deck. Everyone on his team are hardworking professionals who are kind and a pleasure to have working on our home. The care and attention to detail was beyond any we have ever experienced. If you are looking to replace your deck and maybe add a roof, do what we did and hire Archer and his crew at Deckor, you will be very happy, I know we are. ~Merry CorneliusPosted on Google![]()

DecKor has helped us reclaim a lost investment and changed our outdoor living experience. Aside from the quality, professionalism, and care for our vision; their product transformed our home. We invested in the idea of outdoor living years ago but never became a reality. There were numerous cheap ideas and concepts that we tried over the years (umbrellas, sails, etc…) which were ultimately lost investments. Outdoor furniture, all lost from the Colorado sun. We finally found the resources to make a major decision and go with a long lasting durable concept. The team at DecKor ensured we made the best investment. They encouraged us to take the extra step knowing it would pay off…and it did! The detailed craftsmanship and confidently built structures makes this look like part of the original house. They were quick when we needed it, and never pressured us at any point. The construction crew was complimented by multiple neighbors. We look forward to another project with them. I was buying with initial concerns for such a big investment, now I’m buying with confidence and excitement that every penny will be recapitalized through years of outdoor living and enjoyment. Thank you DecKor team!Posted on Google![]()

We would definitely recommend DecKor Outdoor Living Co. The entire team is excellent! The owner, Archer, and Sales, Jake, helped us to create a vision for an end product that we would truly enjoy and then went to work to make it happen. The crew members, Paul, Joe, and Reuben were great, delivering quality and efficiency! Each member of DecKor is wholly committed to quality and customer satisfaction. We are extremely happy with the project completed, consisting of two decks and a deck cover over the largest deck.Posted on Google![]()

DecKor Outdoor Living just replaced our 36-year-old wooden deck. They did a fabulous job! Jake met with us to discuss options, pricing, and plans for the design. Craftsmen Paul and Joe worked extremely hard and were precise and meticulous during the entire process. They took great pride in their work, made adjustments to meet our needs as an older couple, and did an incredible job with every detail. The final product is absolutely beautiful! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND DECKOR!!Posted on Google![]()

Common Questions About Outdoor Glass Systems
What is the typical turnaround time?
Most projects take about four to six weeks from the day we finalize measurements to the day installation finishes. Manufacturing custom tempered glass takes the bulk of that time, usually three to four weeks at the factory. The actual physical build on your property typically takes two to five days, depending on the perimeter size and whether framing reinforcements are needed first.
How are project costs calculated?
We base our estimates on total linear footage, panel height, glass thickness, and hardware style. A frameless system set in base shoe channels requires different labor and structural backing than a semi-frameless system with aluminum posts. Site access also plays a role because working on a second-story deck takes extra rigging compared to a ground-level patio. We break down all material and labor items clearly in our initial quote.
Are these panels safe against hail and extreme winds?
Yes. We use heavy architectural tempered or laminated glass designed for exterior building codes. Tempered glass is roughly four times stronger than standard window glass. It handles hail, blown branches, and wind gusts past 100 mph when anchored into proper structural framing.
How often do I need to clean the glass?
Usually a few times a year. Rain keeps dust down, but pollen and water spots build up eventually. A bucket of warm water, mild soap, and a standard window squeegee will clean a full deck railing in twenty minutes. If you want lower maintenance, we can apply a protective coating during assembly that sheds water and keeps mineral spots from sticking.
What towns do you travel to besides Palmer Lake?
We build across Northern El Paso County and Southern Douglas County. That includes Monument, Larkspur, Perry Park, Black Forest, Gleneagle, and Northern Colorado Springs.
Will heavy mountain wind gusts rattle the panels?
Not when they are installed properly. If a glass wall rattles, it usually means the mounting posts were anchored poorly or the glass was too thin for the span. We lock our panels into heavy rubber isolators and solid steel or aluminum frames. The glass stays quiet even during bad spring windstorms.
Can you mount glass onto my existing deck?
In most cases, yes. The main requirement is solid framing underneath your deck boards. Heavy glass panels need strong support, especially when high winds push against them. If your current deck joists or rim boards need extra blocking, our builders handle those framing upgrades before mounting any glass posts.
What style choices do I have for frames and glass?
You have several options. For glass, you can choose standard clear, ultra-clear low-iron glass to eliminate the green edge tint, or frosted glass for privacy from neighbors. For metal components, we offer matte black, bronze, silver, or custom powder-coated finishes, along with brushed stainless steel. You can also add a wooden or composite top cap rail to match your existing deck finishes.
